By all accounts, we’re within a few days of Apple’s official public release of Firmware 4.2. Here’s what you need to know:Better explanation? iPhone hacker comex could make untethered jailbreak until iOS 4.2 beta 3 (that's why you see it's SHSH in Cydia) and is working on extending it to final iOS 4.2. iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS will get Ultrasn0w unlock once iOS 4.2 is released while iPhone 4 will get it a bit more but as soon as possible ! So, stay tuned for some good news here !
- Thanks to geohot’s limera1n exploit, and our original pwnage2 exploit, and pod2g’s ipod2g-MC exploit, absolutely all devices at all iOS devices at all
- The untethered jailbreak of the very latest FWs and devices depends on @comex hacks. His hacks so far extend only to 4.1 and 4.2beta3. He’s working on a way to extend it to 4.2 and beyond. Just wait for him to work out his method.
- iPhone 3G and 3GS unlockers will be covered by our upcoming unlock. Stay away from any updates to Apple FW until our official release and you’ll be okay. Just stay away from all Apple IPSWs :)
- iPhone4 unlockers are not left out in the cold. @sherif_hashim has found some very promising avenues to pursue. Those will be explored as soon as possible after all the 4.2 madness.
What does this mean to you?
- If you’re an unlocker, just stay where you are. Please, just stay where you are. Any mistakes you make now may be permanent.
- If you only care about the jailbreak, feel free to experiment but keep in mind that any mistake you make may result in you losing pictures or notes or bookmarks that you’d rather keep. Honestly unless you love living on the bleeding edge, it’s better to just wait for official updates from Cydia/redsn0w/PwnageTool.
- Don’t buy or donate to any unlock or jailbreak scammers. Every legitimate solution you will find for unlocks or jailbreaks will be offered without an extended hand. That’s how this community works. It’s about freedom, not donations.

Dev Team Releases PwnageTool 4.1 to Jailbreak iOS Devices for Life
Just a couple of hours back, iPhone Dev Team released a new and updated version of PwnageTool to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod touch 4G, 3G, 2G, Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.1 and iPad on iOS 3.2.2. This tool is based on creating pre-jailbroken custom firmwares, so, you can upgrade your iOS device using this jailbroken custom firmware.
The most important feature in PwangeTool that it preserves iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G basebands, so you can upgrade to higher firmware without updating your baseband. In brief, it will keep your device unlocked. This tool will untethered all A4 devices (i.e. iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G, iPad, Apple TV 2G) for life. It works on Mac OS X only, we will be back with full how-to guide, stay tuned for that!

PwangeTool 4.1 Jailbreak ALL Devices [SCREENSHOT]
You have waited long for the new version of PwangeTool to jailbreak all devices on iOS 4.1 while preserving the baseband and keeping the carrier unlock safe. So, iPhone Dev Team has teased us with a screenshot for the new version of PwangeTool and the screenshot is really full with devices.
The supported devices as shown are iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPhone 3G, Apple TV, iPad and iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G thanks to Limera1n's exploit. PwangeTool 4.1 was set to be launched by previous Sunday but I think it was complicated a lot by the team so they delayed the release. But, the screenshot above indicates that it's coming sooner than later! Stay tuned for that!

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G will Arrive After iOS 4.2 Official Release
We are waiting for the Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 which will be release by October 10 10:10 am GMT, you know as well that unfortunately, Greenpois0n will be able to jailbreak iPhone 4 and iPod touch on iOS 4.1, iPad on iOS 3.2.2 and may be Apple TV 2G ONLY. More precisely, Greenpois0n will not jailbreak iPhone 3GS nor iPod touch 3G on iOS 4.1, this limitation was due to the unavailability to use the SHAtter exploit with older devices.
But do not lose hopes, we reported you few hours ago that Comex the guy behind Spirit and JailbreakMe has userland exploit which will jailbreak iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G. Now the question is When we catch it?, Musclenerd has replied this question confirming that it wouldn't be before official iOS 4.2 is out. I think it makes sense that we see the new Comex userland jailbreak after iOS 4.2 official release, Why? Because the userland exploit can be easliy patched by Apple.
Some one asking Musclenerd:
Now I have to remind all our readers that Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4G, iPod touch 4G and iPad will be released next Sunday October 10, Stay tuned for the full coverage.

Those reading between the lines: Yes SHAtter itself is tethered. @comex came up with a way to untether it on 4.1/3.2.2Another point to clarify, that Apple may convert the Greenpois0m jailbreak from untethered jailbreak to tethered jailbreak if it was able to patch the userland based method which discovered by Comex. So that the new Comex userland jailbreak tool will be for iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G mainly, and to re-untethered Greenpois0n jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad.
Some one asking Musclenerd:
Is there ETA for comex's jailbreak for 3GS?Musclenerd replied:
something like that wouldn't be before official 4.2 is out (at the very least)For who asking about iOS 4.2, it will be released by November. We will wait impatiently for it. [via RedmondPie]

Greenpois0n is Untethered Jailbreak [Confirmed]
Few hours ago we detect some news flying around about the tethered status of the upcoming Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad. now we can say that the new Greenpois0n is confirmed as untethered jailbreak (i.e. you will not need to connect your iPhone to your computer when you need to reboot).

Jailbreak iPod Touch 4G with SHAtter Exploit [Video]
A few moments ago we surprised with a new video from the iPhone dev-team, The dev-team confirmed that the SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to a custom IPSW created specifically for this model. As you know the SHAtter exploit was developed by Pod2g (ex-Chronic dev). Dev-team also confirmed that the team is hard at work bringing us a brand new tool to make use of the exploit.
Thanks to the union between PwnageTool and Shatter to run the jailbreak on iPod Touch 4G, however there is no ETA (estimate to arrival), but we can say that we are really close to the first release of the new tool to jailbreak iOS 4.1. As usual we will keep you tuned with any immediate updates.

In the meantime, we’ve put @pod2g’s exploit into a beta version of PwnageTool to test the waters. The SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to our custom IPSW. The successful result is shown below! It’s all working: customized Preferences to show battery percentage, Cydia, root shell…the works!
Although PwnageTool was a useful first test of a full iPod 4G jailbreak via SHAtter, it’s really overkill compared to the faster tools being developed. Its main use in PwnageTool will be for those with iPhone4’s, to allow updates while preserving the baseband and ultrasn0w carrier unlock. In any event, this is another exciting time for iPhone and iPod touch users…the cat and mouse game continues!

New Untethered Userland iOS 4.1 Jailbreak On Its Way
May be we can call this HUGE especially when pod2g, the developer of SHAtter exploit, left the Chronic dev team and worked individually. Today, MuscleNerd has pretty much confirmed that Comex is still working on iOS 4.1 untethered userland jailbreak. After Redsn0w release yesterday to jailbreak iPhone 3G, and iPod touch 2G, someone has asked MuscleNerd if it support iPod touch 2G MC model as written on the blog. MuscleNerd answered him that it's supported but it's will be tethered until Comex release a new userland exploit.
Jonathan Kurtz asks MuscleNerd:

@MuscleNerd so redsn0w supports iPod touch 2g mc? Or is it a typo on the blog?MuscleNerd replies:
@jonnyboywashere it does, but that ipt2g MC model will be a tethered JB at 4.1 until @comex releases a new userland exploitThis userland jailbreak from comex we already talked about when MuscleNerd confirmed that iOS 4.1 jailbreak coming from Comex. Then the talks changed when pod2g and p0sixninja came to the jailbreak scene, first, we published information about SHAtter exploit and USB based Greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1. But today, we can't decide who will jailbreak iOS 4.1 and we can't decide it's tethered or untethered. As usual we will keep you informed by any updates.

Game Center is Limited at 500 Friends per Account?
These days, iPhone users are busy playing games and accepting friends on Game Center. But it seems to be crapped at 500 friends per account, I noticed that in my account when I reached 501 friends, it didn't receive friend requests anymore. You have to delete a friend to receive a friend request. That was also noticed by MuscleNerd, the well-known iPhone hacker.
MuscleNerd said:

So much for my not-so-secret plan to break GameCenter! They’re capping my friend count at around 500 (as soon as I delete one, I get one new request)Basically, once you reach the limit (500 friends), Apple simply stop new requests but requests continues to arrive and get in the queue. Once you delete the 501st friend, you will immediately promoted by a new request that was done before in the queue. You will not be able to add the 502nd and 503rd friends. The question is, Are they told your Game box is full? or Do they think you're ignoring them?

iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Using New Bootrom Exploit on iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G
Yesterday we told you that Pod2g is working on a new bootrom based exploit to jailbreak iOS 4.1 and he successfully could manage to jailbreak iPhone 4, and iPod touch 4G as told before. But the big one today, the jailbreak works on iPad on iOS 3.2.2 too! iPad users must be happy now.

Pod2g Got a Bootrom Exploit to Jailbreak iOS 4.1
Yeah, Tweets were here and there about the exploit that will jailbreaks iOS 4.1, and here it come! Pod2g is the hacker which will jailbreak iOS 4.1 not Comex (as already told). It was crazy that he got the latest exploit just as 4.1 went public. But there's still lots of work to do before the release.
The new jailbreak is on it's way. Pod2G and p0sixninja were able to find a new boot level exploit, which means that Apple will no longer able to block the jailbreak unless they upgrade the hardware in all iOS devices as this exploit acts on the hardware itself. As usual, we will keep you informed whenever the jailbreak is available.
Update 1: The exploits successfully works on iOS 4.1, for people who were wondering about the tweet from Pod2G says iOS 4.0.1, now check more details about this here.

Just a quick heads up. Next jailbreak will not come from Comex, Yes, that' true! Come has just replied to someone telling him that he will donate to him whenever the next jailbreak is released. Comex said that the next jailbreak may not come from him. Full details posted below.

We don't know who will release the next jailbreak. As we know Geohot left the jailbreak scene two months ago, then his friend Mike Cohenn allowed the possibility of Geohot return by "Ra1n". iOS 4.1 Userland Jailbreak Coming Soon?
You have been waiting for that! MuscleNerd has just said that comex will try to pull a trifecta by releasing a userland jailbreak similar to JailbreakMe to jailbreak iOS 4.1 for all devices but if he fails to do though, then a iBoot or bootrom exploits will be released.

How to: Jailbreak iPhone 3G iOS 4.0.2 By Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5
According to the latest twee from Comex, despite patches of Apple, users who want to jailbreak their iDevices have nothing fo fear. He also mentioned that it has 3 different exploits to jailbreak.
Even MuscleNerd has already said that latest version of Redsn0w which release in June 2010 is able to jailbreak 4.0.2 but only on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model) by following guide posted here.
That was fun while it lasted. Hope you saved your SHSH. Remember that 4.1 rhymes with fun.Others who now buy an iPhone with firmware 4.0.2 or higher, will probably wait until the release of major update before making the jailbreak unless the DevTeam and iH8sn0w not update Redsn0w and Sn0wbreeze. Thus, iH8sn0w has alrealy published a screenshot showing the jailbreak on iOS 4.0.2
Even MuscleNerd has already said that latest version of Redsn0w which release in June 2010 is able to jailbreak 4.0.2 but only on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model) by following guide posted here.
hah :) redsn0w from June http://is.gd/eduZD can still JB 4.0.2 for iPhone3G and ipt2G(non-MC) ONLY (point it at 4.0 IPSW)It seems that the Firmware 4.1 will be released in mid-September during the "Music" event where Apple will univels the iPod Touch 4G any may be iOS 4 for the iPad, we have to wait.
