Windows Phone 7 Jailbreak First Step [Video]

Yesterday we reported about the Australian developer, Chris Walshie who is working hard to develop a way to jailbreak WP7 as well as he was successfully able to prove a method to run "native unmanaged code" on a retail Windows Phone 7 device. Let's check out this in action.
I’ll be posting the code in a couple of days, need to clean it all up. And yes, it’s a managed app running unmanaged code :)

You’ve got FULL access, create, delete, browse files etc. Just can’t delete system ROM files, IE coredll.dll (obviously).
I would imagine that we'll see the new third-party jailbreak store apps very soon, as the developers won't find the complexities such as those on iOS Jailbreak. What do you think? [via Walshie]

Table Connect for iPhone in a Game Test [VIDEO]

Remember Table Connect for iPhone? This real 58-inch table which was demonstrated before in a video that makes us want it. The guys behind this project has made a new video but this time, it's more interesting!
We are currently testing Table Connect for iPhone with various games and are testing how far we can go :-)

Warning: Try only if you're fit, sore muscles guaranteed! (Still hurts ...)

Labyrinth 2 by Illusion Labs is great fun and available on the App Store!

The video is showing Labyrinth 2 game in action. Of course it's not comfortable to carry a huge table and play a game but anyway, it'll be attractive for reactionary uses! [TableConnect, via iPhoneItalia]

The Banned White iPhone 4 Promo Video [Humor]

We all knew that Apple has delayed white iPhone 4 for three times, first when it announced it in July, then in August till later this year and from about two days until spring 2011. We also got some reports that it was canceled by Apple. So, while waiting for a 'white iPhone 5', let's have some fun with a banned white iPhone 4 promo video.
If you waited for the white iPhone, you’re an idiot. You’re a stupid human being who has waited 5 months for a phone that’s a different color. That you’re just gonna put a cover on anyway. So you’re a fool. In fact, why don’t you go get an EVO or something? Or a Droid. 2. They apparently does.

Android Gingerbread Arrives at Google HQ [Video]

Yes that's right! The new version of Android will be named "Gingerbread", no more rumors. The folks over at Google have dished a few details on Gingerbread (Android 3.0). Although it's not officially announced, the name has been confirmed by a video uploaded on Youtube by AndroidDevs shows the Gingerbread statue arriving in a truck at Google’s HQ, being moved to the left of Froyo’s statue and then being erected by Google employees.
What about the new features included in this Gingerbread? Well, earlier this month, Android chief and vice president of engineering explained:
"More forms of communication. I think social media is a form of communication," Rubin said. "I think you would just talk about general improvements to the platform and make it faster and more robust. I think gaming is an area that I think is underserved right now. We're actually going through a reinvention of casual gaming. If you look at a console game like an XBOX or a PlayStation or a Nintendo, I think it's very, "sit down and try to get to the maximum level possible." On cell phones and devices that are battery operated, I think there's more kind of "what do you do in between the times when you're doing something?" It's more about running a game to fill time rather than running a game to be a dedicated event."
Let's move to the video, watch Google employs confirming Gingerbread:

Newton OS Running on iPhone Thanks to Einstein Emulator [Video]

Forget iOS 4.2 and Android Froyo 2.2 on iPhone, Now it's time for Newton OS. This Monday morning, developer Matthias Melcher has wisely ported the forgotten operating system Newton OS onto iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. He's currently working on performance optimizations that'll hopefully have it running like a charm.
Einstein is an open-source project to run (via emulation) the Newton OS on modern hardware. It was written and released by Paul Guyot several years ago. It’s quite an amazing piece of work.

The project got a shot in the arm earlier this month when Matthias Melcher got it up and running on iOS and posted a video of himself running it on his iPhone. Being a Newton fan since my original MessagePad in 1993, it was quite a sight to see.

Matthias mentioned he didn’t have an iPad yet, so I grabbed the source and built it for my iPad so I could take a little movie and share
Even if the video embedded looks little slow and bad performance, but Melcher has mentioned that speed will improve as there are a lot of optimizations yet to be made. Check out the instructions posted here to get it running on your iOS device. [via PanicBlog]

So here's a quick hands on videos to sum up what is new in iOS 4.2 for iPad.

Video via AppAdvice

Video via Engadget

More Features in the iOS 4.2 beta 1:
  • The external switch is acting as a mute switch again.
  • Only 6 apps in the multitasking bar when you hold your iPad in portrait mode.
  • You can now create folders (containing up to 20 apps).
  • You can activate AirPlay from the photo app; to stream photos to the new Apple TV.
Of course, you have to stay away from this update if your device is in jailbreak status as iOS 4.2 kills the jailbreak. If you updated by mistake, we will post guides about how to downgrade iOS 4.2 to iOS 3.2.1 (latest jailbroken firmware), but remember, you must have SHSH blobs to do so.

iPhone 4 VS. iPod Touch 4G, Display and Video Recording Comparison [Video]

Few days ago we have reported you about the difference between the newly iPod Touch 4G's display and iPhone 4's display, today we have a new two videos produced by Letemsvetemapplem, the first video showing the differences between the display angles of the two devices, the other one makes a side-by-side video recording comparison between the of the iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4.

This video compares between display angels:

This one is a side-by-side video recording comparison:
As you see, although the new iPod Touch 4 contains a retina display, it is not the same high quality display found in the iPhone 4, this is due to the IPS display in the iPhone 4, which offers better viewing angles. [via macrumors]

Two days ago, we showed you a speed test between iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G but it was focused on browsing speed. This time, we could get our hands on a more detailed speed test in a video between iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G again. You can check the speed of running various applications and games.
It seems pretty cool, right? The same is the same, no can deny this although that sometimes iPod touch wins and sometimes iPhone wins. What I can say at the end, iPod touch 4G is pretty cool and thinner! [via iSpazio]
